Guys and Dolls
Presented in the Fred Kavli Theatre
October 16 - 25, 2009
Guys are gambling, dolls are dancing, and the audience comes up a winner with the revered GUYS AND DOLLS. Colorful characters abound, as suave Sky Masterston wages a bet on whether he can woo the buttoned up Sister Sarah Brown. Sky makes the bet with shifty Nathan Detroit, who puts the crap game ahead of his long-suffering fiancée, Adelaide, to whom he’s been engaged for 14 years. We’re going to raise the roof with treasured songs that include Luck Be A Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat, I’ve Never Been In Love Before, and the title tune. A Tony Award winner for Best Musical, plus three Broadway revivals, GUYS AND DOLLS has spawned a hit movie, with a new film version on the way. Cabrillo Music Theatre delivers a sure bet with its splashy production. Cabrillo will produce this simultaneously with the Broadway production. Recommended for all audiences.
